Diane Elaine (Chaney) Paul was born in Canton, OH on July 14, 1948 to Kenneth and Marvel (Houchin) Chaney, she passed away peacefully at Aultman Compassionate Care on April 8, 2025. She graduated from Canton South High School. Diane was a special education teacher’s assistant for Canton City public schools.
Diane loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed various activities at Leesville Lake, including fishing, sunbathing, reading, fancy hats, and having a love for Gone With the Wind. Diane had a particular taste for the finer things in life, her choice for quality was above all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Steve Chaney; son, Joseph Paul; three grandchildren, Amber Lynn, Aspyn and Lucy.
Those left to cherish her memories are her brothers, Mike (Marlene) Chaney and Jeff Chaney; children, Alanna (Jeff) Riesen, Elizabeth McCormick, Victor Paul Sr., and Jessica (John) McNutt; grandchildren, Ashley Martin, Ray Russell II, Lindsey Russell, Jacob Russell, Joseph Paul, Randy McCormick, Kyle McCormick, Victor Paul, Alyssa Paul, Christopher Paul, Brandon Smith, Zachary Smith, and Logan Smith; a total of 26 grand/great-grand/great-great-grandchildren surviving, along with many nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes there will be no services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
