Dexter R. Casto
Age 82, of East Sparta died Saturday, September 26, 2009 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. Born April 27, 1927 in Statts Mills, WV. to the late Lafe and Stella J. (Skeens) Casto. He was an East Sparta resident for the past 53 years and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War where he was a recipient of a Purple Heart. Dexter retired from the U.S. Army in 1952 and the Timken Company Department 63 in 1987 after 35 years of service. He was a member of Golden Lodge #1123 and loved gardening, yard sales and Kiko Auctions. Preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Joanne Casto; two brothers, Delmer "Buss" and Darrell Casto; four sisters, Masel Hatcher, Elizabeth "Lizzy" Winters, Edra Casto and Glenva Casto. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Orbie M. (Lupardus) Casto; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Jeannie Casto of Canal Fulton, Tracy and Cynthia Casto of Doylestown, Wayne and Lisa Casto of East Sparta; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Todd Davidson of East Sparta; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Imogene Bush of Washington, WV., numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 from 5-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. Additional calling hours will be Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 from 5-8 pm in Parsons Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley, WV. Funeral services will be Thursday, October, 1, 2009 at 11:00 am in Siniaville Church, Statts Mills, WV. Interment in Siniaville Church Cemetery.
