Dewey E. Wise
Age 59, of East Canton died Saturday, January 16, 2010 in Louis Stokes Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Cleveland, OH. Born September 17, 1950 in Clarksburg, WV. to Forrest and Dorothy (Wagner) Wise. He was an East Canton resident since 1998, prior to which he resided in Massillon. Dewey attended Canton McKinley High School. He was a Vietnam veteran serving with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne where he was a paratrooper with wings and was a sharpshooter with the M16 and M14. He was employed with Eco-Tran Transporation and formerly employed by the Hoover Co. for 11 years. Dewey was a member of First Church of the Nazarene of Canton and the Rollin Wolves Ohio Charity Club. Preceded in death by his father, Forrest Wise. Survived by his wife of 15 years, Barbara P. (Brown) Wise; five daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Matt Shoultz, Barbara and Kenneth Ruiz, Mary and Richard Higgins, Charlotte Cordia and fiancee, Mike Rakos, Andrea Brown; three sons and daughter-in-law, Jason and Melissa Wise, Jack Wise, Robert Cordia Jr. and fiancee, Danielle Bobby; 17 grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy Wise; two brothers and sister-in-law, Warren and Pauline Wise, Clyde Wise and Debra; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy Johnston, Christine Wise, Vivian and Steve Campbell; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Rev. Dante Snyder officiating. Interment in Mapleton Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 -8 pm.
