Delores J. Arrant
Delores J. Arrant, age 81, of Canton, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday June 13, 2006 in Manor Care following an extended illness. She was born October 19, 1924 in Heaton, NC, to the late William and Lola (Smith) Oaks. She was a Canton area resident since 1941 and was formerly employed by Canton Hardware. Member of Canton Baptist Temple where she was active in the Choir, Jolly Sixties and had served as a Sunday School Teacher for 20 years. She had also been a Girl Scout Leader for several years. She is preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Mary Oaks; one brother, Billy Oaks; one sister, Juanita Nelson. She is survived by her husband, William Kenneth Arrant to whom she was married 62 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jon Brunner of Canton; two granddaughters, Heidi and her husband, Val Geib of Canton, Amy Brunner of Lake Cable; one grandson, John Brunner of Kissimmee, FL; two great grandchildren, Faith and William Geib; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy Jean and Kenneth Brewer of North Canton; five nephews and two nieces. Funeral services will be Friday June 16, 2006 at 11:00am in Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave with Rev. David Harmon officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call one hour before services on Friday (10-11am). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
