Delbert H. Plaskett
Delbert H. Plaskett, age 79, of North Industry, OH. died Monday, October 16, 2006 in his home following a ten week battle with cancer. Born December 11, 1926 in North Industry, OH. to the late William A. and Flora I. (Myers) Plaskett. He was a life resident of North Industry and a 1944 graduate of Canton Township High School. A WWII navy veteran where he served with the Seabee's. Retired from Brechbuhler Scales in 1989 after 26 years of service. Member and past Master of Canton Lodge #60, F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Canton. Also member of North Industry Christian Church, Springwood Lake Camp Club where he served on the board of trustees, Scottie Trailer Club, Junior Order of American Mechanics, Stark County Civil War Round Table and The Wilderness Center. Delbert was an avid Civil War Historian and enjoyed family genealogy. Preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse and Glenn Plaskett; two sisters, Eloyse Hockensmith-Snyder and Naomi Black-Thouvenin. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice A. (Eberman) Plaskett; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Tom Kuykendall of Garland, TX; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Valerie Plaskett of Lima; two granddaughters, Sarah and Emily Plaskett both of Lima; two sisters-in-law, Alice Plaskett of Canton and Jeanne Thouvenin of East Sparta; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 10:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Mark Black officiating.Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm with Masonic Services at 4:45 pm. Memorial donations may be made to The Wilderness Center, P.O. Box 202, Wilmot, OH. 44689.
