Dean H. Putnam
Age 88, of Canton, passed away Monday August 8, 2016 in the Laurels of Canton. He was born June 17, 1928 in Cleveland, OH to the late Cyrus and Mary (Hart) Putnam. Dean was an entrepreneur, inventor, patent holder and founding owner/operator of Magnagard Equipment Manufacturing, Stark Laser Products and Printer Cleaning Specialists. He was very active volunteer for the MAPS Air Museum where he restored WWII era planes; he was a licensed private pilot and an open wheel race car driver; he built planes, boats and race cars; he was an avid runner, skier and tennis player; and he volunteered for the Toledo Ballet, serving as their Business Manager, set builder, and cast member in The Nutcracker. Dean was a Korean War Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Sherry A. (Schario) Cini-Putnam to whom he was married 29 years; six children and their spouses, Jill and Jack Diamond, Peter Putnam, Kris and Terry Walkerly, Julie Cini, Greg and Lisa Cini, Patty and Jeff Berkebile; 14 grandchildren, Matt, Ben, Autumn, Abby, Taryn, Cody, Jacob, Dylan, Addie, Maddie, Peyton, Sydney, Isabella and Austin; two great-grandchildren, Calley and Gunner; a dear cousin, Nancy Kermode. A memorial service will be Saturday August 13, 2016 at 1:00pm in Grace United Methodist Church at 1720 Schneider St NW, N. Canton, OH 44720, with Rev. Don Richards officiating.
