David R. Phillips Sr.
Age 79, of Canton, passed away Thursday June 28, 2012 in his home following an extended illness. He was born December 6, 1932 in Belmont County, OH to the late Earl and Ethel (Pittman) Phillips. David was a Canton area resident most of his life and a faithful member of Northwest Church of Christ. He retired from The Timken Company in 1998 after more than 30 years of service. David was a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Obusek. He is survived by his wife, Pilar (Cabilete) to whom he was married 34 years; three children and their spouses, Sally and Alan Polen of Canton, David R. Phillips Jr. of Canton, Diane Phillips and Richard Kitts of Carrollton; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Maryanne and Thomas McFrederick of Barnesville, OH; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday July 2, 2012 at 10:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave with Lance Lindenberger officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
