David L. Doney, age 75, passed away on September 26, 2023, in Aultman Hospital. He was born in Canton, Ohio, on January 13, 1948, to Neldon and Ada (Spargrove) Doney.
David served his country honorably and was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Louisville City Fire Department in 2012 after 34 years of service. He also spent 34 years with the Timken Co., where he retired from in 2000. David was an avid model train hobbyist and left behind his beloved cat, Mittens.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Lisa G (Billman) Doney, whom he married in 2005; daughters, Lesley (Andy) Williams and Gayle Doney; stepchildren, Michelle (Jason) Wade, Jennifer (Dana) Swift, John Ritz; four grandchildren, Christian, Zachary, Joshua and Caleb; four step-grandchildren, Andrew, Audrey, Zoe, and Khloe; two sisters, Nancy (Jim) Campbell and Peggy (Larry) Boron.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Per his wishes, there will be a private service.
Arrangements are entrusted to Sanders Funeral Home, 218 E. Nassau St., East Canton, OH 44730. Friends and family may share condolences and memories.
