David L. Clapper
David L. Clapper, age 56, of East Canton, died Monday July 31, 2006 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. He was born October 31, 1949 in Canton to the late Paul D. and Concetta M. (Calabretta) Clapper. David was an East Canton area resident most of his life and formerly resided in Homestead, FL. He was a 1968 graduate of East Canton High School and an Army Vietnam Veteran. He had attended St. Paul's United Church of Christ where he had served as a greeter, usher and on the property committee. He was a member of Osnaburg Historical Society, East Canton Alumni, VFW and the Lowell D. Oberly American Legion Post #667. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah K.S. Clapper on January 6, 2006. He is survived by his daughter, Connie Kay Clapper of the home; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Edwin Ruth of Canton, Mary and Carl Anderson of Canton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Paul J. and Deborah Clapper of Louisville, Daniel Clapper of Charleston, SC; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving friends. The family would like to thank the entire medical staff at Aultman Hospital MICU unit for all of their wonderful care and support. Funeral services will be Friday August 4, 2006 at 10:00am in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Terry Kirschman and Rev. Robert M. Graber officiating. Interment with military honors in Mapleton Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 5-8pm in the funeral home and one hour before services on Friday (9-10am).
