Dale R. Bednarz
Dale R. Bednarz, age 76, of Canton, passed away Wednesday May 30, 2007 following an extended illness. He was born May 1, 1931 in Canton, to the late William and Grace (Strong) Bednarz. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Donald Bednarz. Dale was a 1949 graduate of Lincoln High School and was injured while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was employed by the Ohio Power Co. for 16 years, retired from The Timken Company, Security Department with 26 years of service and was a Bus Driver for Canton Local Schools for 16 years. He was a member of Lathrop Lodge #676 F&AM and the Scottish Rite Valley of Canton. He is survived by his wife, Donna (Crider) to whom he was married 53 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Jack Carroll of Wooster; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Penny Bednarz of Canton, Daniel and Janet Bednarz of Orrville; six grandchildren whom he adored, Matthew Carroll of Virginia, Stefanie Carroll of Wooster, Aaron and Tyler Bednarz of Canton, Justin Dale and Allison Bednarz of Orrville; one sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Robert Self; one sister-in-law, Delores Bednarz all of Massillon; five nieces and one nephew; two aunts, Gladys Ferran of Canton and Dorothy Bednarz of Bucyrus; two very special friends, Omar and Mary Perez. Funeral services will be Monday June 4, 2007 at 10am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Stephen Kimbrel officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday 6-9pm in the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Linz and his staff and the 4th wing at the Laurels of Massillon for their extraordinary care. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Canton Local School Athletic Dept. at 600 Faircrest St SE, Canton, OH 44707 or the Dalton Local School Athletic Dept. at 177 N.
