Clyde B. Brechbuhler
Age 93, of Canton, passed away Friday January 23, 2015. He was born September 9, 1921 in North Industry, OH to the late Fred E. and Elva M. (Stokes) Brechbuhler. Clyde was a 1939 graduate of Canton Township High School and proudly served during WWII in the Army Air Corps as a radio operator, navigator and gunner. He had also attended cadet training while in the military. Clyde was the retired owner/operator of Brechbuhler Scales Inc. and their subsidiaries; he currently served as chairman of the board. He had served on the Canton Local School Board for many years and continued to support the Canton Local Schools. Clyde was very philanthropic to many organizations and institutions of higher education. He was a member of North Industry Christian Church, the Masonic Temple and Scottish Rite Valley of Canton. Clyde truly enjoyed fishing, a good round of golf and the endless search of the lost golf ball. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Brechbuhler; one sister, Ruby Dilworth. He is survived by his wife, Wanda L. (Fair) with whom he celebrated 73 years of marriage; three children, Kittie Brechbuhler Clarke of Bath, OH, Kim Brechbuhler of Canton, Kraig and Wendy Brechbuhler of Canton; eight grandchildren, Alex, Abbe, Emily, Andy, Seth, Kelli, Kristin and Madison; four great-grandchildren, Anna, Grace, Josie and Henry; one sister, Rosemary Bailey of Canton; The family would like to thank nephew and nieces, Joel Dutton, Chris Simmons and Cindy Dutton for their assistance and care. There will be a private family service and burial. There will be no public services. The Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Memorial donations in Mr. Brechbuhler's memory may be made to Lake Center Christian School at 12893 Kaufman Ave NW, Hartville, OH 44632.
