Claude A. May, Jr.
Age 81, of Canton died Sunday, August 30, 2009 in Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Born August 28, 1928 in Augusta, GA. to the late Claude A. Sr. and Clara B. (Sanders) May. He was a Canton area resident for the past 34 years and was a Korean War U.S. Navy veteran. Claude was the retired owner of May & Associates and formerly was employed by Hilscher/Clarke. He was a member of North Industry United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by one sister, Kathryn Camp and a niece, Julie Roberts. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia A. (McRae) May; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Robert Smith of Navarre, Claudia and Daniel Bruening of Coshocton; one son, Ronald E. May of Canton; three grandchildren, Michele Fortune, John E. Thompson, Stephanie Smith; two step grandchildren, Heather Ferguson and Hillary Bruening; three great grandchildren, Alexandria, Samantha and John Thompson; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 11:00 am in North Industry United Methodist Church, 155 Faircrest St. S.W., Canton, OH. 44706 with Rev. Jeri K. Johnson officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00-11:00 am. Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
