Clancy E. Morrison
Clancy E. Morrison, age 93, of East Canton, passed away Friday May 23, 2008 in St. Joseph Care Center. He was born January 15, 1915 in Winterset, OH. to the late Roy and Eva (Henry) Morrison. Clancy was a Stark County resident since 1941 and was a 1933 graduate of Cambridge High School. He retired from Republic Steel as a Metallurgist in 1976 after 35 years of service and later was employed by Linerode Real Estate for 10 years. He was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church where he had served as a Trustee and with the Methodist Men. He was an avid fisherman, a charter member of P'NA Sportsman's Club and member of the Guernsey County First Families Association. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Forest R. Morrison on March 18, 2008, to whom he was married 66 years; two brothers, Ernest and Richard Morrison. He is survived by one daughter, Rebecca VanVoorhis of Indianapolis, IN; one son and daughter-in-law, Jay "Ben" and Jody Morrison of San Francisco, CA; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be Saturday July 12, 2008 at 11:00am in Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with Rev. Clark Kandel Jr. officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church at 108 E. Walnut St, East Canton, OH 44730. The Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton is handling arrangements.
