Chester Elwood Beans
Age 94, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018. He was born in Howenstine (North Industry) on October 8, 1923 to the late John and Estella (Newhouse) Beans. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he trained navigation to pilots at Pensacola, Florida. Chester was also a licensed pilot. He was a self-employed neon sign manufacturer for local businesses and all over the United States for 55 years. Preceded in death by his first wife of 23 years, Helen (Grubbs) Beans; his second wife to whom he was married 39 years, Kathryn (Miller) Beans; four children, Barbara Broadwater, Dennis Beans, Terry Beans and Diane Beans; two sisters, Goldy Frank, Ruby Martin; two brothers, Richard Beans, Floyd Beans. He is survived by one son, Robert Beans (Pamela) of Louisville; several grandchildren. Following Chester’s wishes cremation will take place and his cremains interred with Kathryn, the love of his life in Eden Cemetery. There will be no public services.
