Age 79, of East Sparta died Thursday, March 12, 2009 in Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. Born December 6, 1929 in Zanesville, OH. to the late Ralph and Clara Ross. He was an East Sparta resident since 1956 and retired from the Timken Company in 1996. Charles was a member of the East Sparta United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by two sons, Mark Andrew and Randy Lee Ross; one daughter, Patricia Ann Ross; several brothers and sisters. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth M. (Winkler) Ross; one son, Edward Ross of Sherrodsville; two daughters, Carol Ross and Julie Keihl both of Canton; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Ross of Prescott, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 11:00 am in East Sparta United Methodist Church, 2041 Pine St. S.E., E. Sparta, OH. 44626 with Rev. Sam Martin officiating. Inurnment in East Sparta Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the East Sparta United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 55, E. Sparta, OH. 44626.
