Charles J. Dillon, age 78, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday February 20, 2008 in Aultman Hospital. He was born April 27, 1929 in Woodsfield, OH, to the late Charlie and Christina (Cline) Dillon. Charles was a graduate of Woodsfield High School and a Canton area resident most of his life. He retired from LTV Steel in 1977 after 30 years of service. He was a faithful member of St. Clement Catholic Church, Navarre, where he served as an usher and was very active in many capacities at the church. He was a member of Knights of Columbus council #5582. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Frances (Fondriest) Dillon; seven sisters, Jessie, Mary, Bernice, Jean, Mabel, Bessie and Sarah; three brothers, Robert, Edwin and William. He is survived by his wife, Irene G. (Lori) to whom he was married 13 years; two children and their spouses, Dixie and Ronald Slates of Navarre, Tom and Becky Price of Massillon; three grandchildren and spouses, Rick and Kim Haines, Doug and Anne Haines, Zach Price; five great grandchildren, Nathan, Amanda, Emily, Monica and Julie Haines; one sister, Violet Bauer of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday February 23, 2008 at 10:00 am in St. Clement Catholic Church with Fr. Edward L. Beneleit as celebrant. Interment in St. Clement Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 5-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave, with K of C rosary service at 4:30pm.
