Charles O. "Chuck" Boyd
Age 96, of North Canton, passed away Sunday December 14, 2014. He was born July 4, 1918 in Magnolia, OH to the late Irven and Carrie (Miller) Boyd. Chuck was a North Canton resident for the past 20 years. He was a WWII Army Infantry veteran where he survived the Battle of the Bulge and was the recipient of a Purple Heart and a Presidential Citation. Chuck retired from Republic Steel in 1981 and had worked in the mining business for a number of years with his brothers under the company name B&B Coal and Boyd Brothers Mining. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He is preceded in death by his wife, Arlona M. Boyd in 2003 with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage; three brothers, Irven, Melvin and Cleo Boyd. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles John and Donna Boyd of Willard, OH, Robert O. and Joyce Boyd of N. Canton, Myles W. and Dixie Boyd of Plain Twp.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and John Richard of Magnolia, Patricia Jean and Sam Regas of N. Canton; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Barbara Stevenson, Naomi Espenschied and Myra Porter. Funeral services will be Wednesday December 17, 2014 at 2:30pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Woodruff officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour before services on Wednesday (1:30-2:30pm). The family would like to thank Aultman Hospice and his in home caregivers.
