Carrol W. Marshall
Age 79, of Minerva, passed away Monday May 4, 2015 in Alliance Community Hospital following a brief illness. He was born June 11, 1935 in Marr, OH to the late Winfield and Clara Blanche (Blair) Marshall. Carrol was a Minerva resident since 1979. He was a member of New Franklin United Methodist Church where he assisted with the pancake breakfasts. Carrol retired from Republic Steel in 1984 after 30 years of service, retired from the City of Louisville after 12 years of service and was employed at several area golf courses. Carrol enjoyed a good round of golf at Carroll Meadows Golf Course; he was an avid sports fan following the Ohio State Buckeyes, East Canton Hornets, Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters, Sylvia Weckbacher, Janet Ayers, Inez Lindamood and Freda Brett; two brothers, Wilmer and Paul Marshall. He is survived by his wife, Vera L. (Cline) with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 11th; three children, Diana and Bill Smith of Canton, Susan Weisend of Louisville, Jeffrey and Jenise Marshall of East Canton; nine grandchildren, Emily Weisend, Billy (Amy) Smith, Andrea (Jeff) Beard, Jennifer (Jerry) Adams, Jacqueline (Matt) Slabaugh, Beverly (Bob) Blandford, Josh (Erin) Marshall, Cody Marshall and Jessica Marshall; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Bernice Marshall of Rinard Mills, OH; a good friend, Justin. A celebration of life service will be Friday May 8, 2015 at 11:00am in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Elaine Weaver and Rev. William Wright officiating.
