Carol Ann DeWalt

Carol Ann DeWalt passed into eternal life on April 25, 2025, she was born on June 2nd, 1939, to Glenn A. and Wilda (Kandel) Motts.

She graduated from East Canton High School in 1957 and was a graduate of Aultman School of Nursing in 1960. Carol was a registered nurse for most of her life. She was employed at Canton City Health Department for over 13 years and spent many years educating grade school students in the surrounding areas.

Carol was a member of Christ Memorial Church and a devoted Christian. From age 12 she faithfully used her God given talent of playing the piano and organ to provide music for Sunday School and church worship services. She looked forward to serving Jesus every Sunday in music for the redeemed, singing praise to our Lord and King.

She was preceded into eternal life by her parents; daughter, Bonny Jean Alley; sister, JoAnn Krach; brother, Glenn A. Motts Jr.; grandparents, many aunts and uncles.

Still waiting to join her is her lifetime best-friend and husband of 66 years James E. DeWalt Sr., also those left to cherish her memories are her son, James E. (Melody) DeWalt Jr.; daughters, Diane (Chris) Warner and Christine (Steve) Hill; sister, Mary Alice Bauer; brother, John (Bonnie) Motts; son-in-law, Andy (Susan) Alley; 9 grandsons and one granddaughter; 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Christ Memorial Church, 2620 Robertsville Ave SE, Paris, Ohio 44669, and again on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

A Service of the Eastern Star will be held prior to the start of Carol's funeral service on Saturday at 10:45 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Robertsville Cemetery, adjacent to the church.
