Carl E. Ickes

Age 83, of Canton died Thursday, March 17, 2022 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born March 26, 1938 in Mineral City, Ohio to the late John and Geraldine (Rainsburg) Ickes. He was a life resident of the Canton area and had served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Carl retired from the Hoover Company in 2001 with 35 ½ years of service. He was a member of North Industry Christian Church, the former Canton South Kiwanis Club, and the Atwood and Pleasant Valley Beagle Clubs. Preceded in death by his wife, H. Jean Ickes in 2017; a sister, Judy Ickes and a brother, Dwight Ickes. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Karma Ickes; a daughter, Michelle Squire; four grandchildren, Kole, Rylee, Justin and Emily; one great granddaughter, Nova; a sister, Pat (Larry) Wright; a brother, Bruce (Clara) Ickes; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 6:00 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 5:00 – 6:00 pm.
