Carl D. Besser, age 81, of Canton, died Friday February 11, 2005 in Canton following an extended illness. Son of the late Harry and Mabel (Carsey) Besser and was a Canton area resident most of his life. A WWII Army veteran serving in the Pacific Theater and a member of the V.F.W., Dover, OH. Carl retired from the Timken Company after 38 years of service and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Canton. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Maxine (Warner) Besser in 1995; one son, Gary Besser in 1997. Survived by his daughter, Connie Besser of Denver, CO.; two brothers, Harry Besser of San Diego, CA., Albert Besser of Denver, CO; two siters, Jane Grubb and June Brooks both of Zanesville, OH. A mass af Christian burial will be Monday at 1:00 pm in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Sommer, MSC, as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 11:30-12:30 in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave.
