Burley Ray Davis
Burley Ray Davis, age 74, of Canton, died Sunday April 8, 2007 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. He was born October 1, 1932 in Elkhurst, WV, to the late John and Maggie (Shamblin) Davis. He was a Canton area resident since 1952, retiring from the United States Postal Service in 1990 after 30 years of service. He had attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a member of the AARP, NARFE, and was a Korean War Army Veteran. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Mary M. (Parsons) Davis; sons and a daughter-in-law, Ray and Stacy Davis of Peachtree City, GA, Kevin Davis of South Carolina and Stephen McIntyre of Canton; daughter, Debra Simmons of Canton; four grandchildren, Wesley Harvey, Duane Davis, Nicholas and Brandon Davis; one sister, Othel Burdette of Procious, WV; four brothers, Clarence Davis of Charleston, WV, John Davis of Maryland, Odbert Davis of Parkersburg, WV, Ralph Davis of Clay, WV; and a special Pop-O to many others. Funeral services will be Wednesday April 11, 2007 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with his brother, Rev. Ralph Davis officiating.
