Billy Joe Gifford, Sr, age 75, of Bolivar died Wednesday, October 10, 2007 in Brecksville V.A. Hospital following an extended illness. Born December 27, 1931 in Shinnston, WV. to the late Chester E. and Edna O. (Levick) Gifford. He was a Canton and Bolivar area resident for the past 51 years. Retired from Babcock and Wilcox. He was a Korean War Navy veteran and member of the Bolivar Sportsman's Club. Preceded in death by his first wife, Louella Jane Gifford in 1991: second wife, Madaline Gifford in 2003; one brother, James Gifford. Survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Billy J. and Joyce Gifford, Jr. of Louisville; four grandchildren, Josh, Jeremy, Emily and Kaylee; one brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Jean Gifford of Massillon; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Alice and Jerry Cocker of Ocala, FL, June and Jack Ernest of Brown, WV; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday from 10am - 12pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. There will be no public services. Private interment in Melscheimer Cemetery.
