Betty M. Waid

Age 76 of Canton went home to be with her Lord on Monday February 8, 2021 in Altercare of Alliance. She was born November 7, 1944 in Canton Township to the late Ralph and Eloyse (Plaskett) Hockensmith. She was a 1962 graduate of Canton South High School. Betty was formerly employed by ADCO Distributors and Smith’s IGA. She had attended Liberty Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, David L. Waid; one brother, Richard Hockensmith; one sister, Beverly Kail; two stepdaughters, Valerie Gaetano and Terri Hunter. Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey D. and Amy Waid; one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Hanley Sivits; one stepson, Eric E. Waid; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Witts. Friends and family will be received Friday February 12, 2021 from 6-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home where facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
