Betty J. Lunsford
Betty J. Lunsford, age 83, of Canton died Thursday, February 21, 2008 in Altercare of Navarre. Born in Hiawassee, GA. on August 18, 1924 to the late Carl and Hattie (Howell) Kimsey. She was a Canton area resident since 1944. Betty was a favorite teacher of many second and third graders at North Industry Grade School. She retired from teaching in 1982. She was a faithful member of North Industry Christian Church since 1960 and taught a Sunday School Class there for many years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, needlework and spent countless hours in her gardens tending to her flowers. Betty was known and will long be remembered for her great love of family, friends and flowers. Preceded in death by her husband, Earl H. Lunsford in 1997 and one brother, Claude Kimsey. Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and David Schemansky of Canton; two grandsons and spouse, Lorren Bell of Dallas, TX., Gregory and Amee Bell of Hudson, OH; two great grandchildren, Abigail and Carter Bell of Hudson, OH; one sister, Ruth Cochran of Hiawassee, GA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 at 4:00pm in the North Industry Christian Church, 425 45th St. S.W., Canton, OH. 44706, with Stephen Kimbrel officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church on Monday from 2-4pm. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Canton South Advanced Education Foundation or to North Industry Christian Church.
