Betty J. Binius
Betty J. (Galay) Binius, age 82, of Canton, died Friday June 30, 2006 in Canton Regency following an extended illness. She was born April 18, 1924 in Gnadenhutten, OH. to the late Arthur E. and Eva (Hines) Carpenter. She was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School and a Canton area resident for the past 60 years. Betty was co-founder and co-owner of Galay's T.V., inc., with her husband Harry Galay. Member of Perry Christian Church and the Lions Club auxiliary of Alliance. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Galay in 1983; second husband, Ed Binius in 1997; two sons, Paul and Andrew Galay; two sisters, Wilma Amicone and Helen Wilson. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Jack Sutherland; four grandchildren, Mary Cathleen Billing, Jeffery Neal Sutherland, Elizabeth Anne Betz, Amanda Lynn Galay Fimple all of Canton; nine great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Helen Carpenter of New Philadelphia, Harold and Mary Carpenter of California. Funeral services will be Monday July 3, 2006 at 11:00am in Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Rev. Bud Carpenter officiating. Interment in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services, Monday (10-11am). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Perry Christian Church at 139 Perry Dr NW, Canton, OH 44708 or Aultman Hospice at 2821 Woodlawn NW., Canton, OH 44708.
