Bessie L. Wise
Age 83, of Canton died Friday, January 11, 2013 in Affinity Medical Center. Born January 23, 1929 in Canton, OH. to the late Allen W. and Mary E. (Devine) Smith. She was a life resident of Canton and a 1947 graduate of Canton Lincoln High School. Bessie retired from Canton Local Schools in 1995 after 25 years of service. She was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild. Preceded in death by her husband, Homer Jack Wise; son-in-law, Wesley Rupert; a grandson, Greg Rupert; two brothers, William and Donald Smith. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Cindy Wise of Toledo; three daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Tom Tripp of East Rochester, OH, Sheri Rupert of Canton, Debbie and Gary Laurie of Canton; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at 11:00 am in Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3828 Cleveland Ave S.W., Canton, OH. 44707 with Rev. L. Scott Bacon officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church from 10-11 am. Memorial donations may be made to Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
