Benjamin A. Zollins
Age 93, of Canton died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in the Inn at Belden Village following a brief illness. Born May 14, 1916 in Canton to the late Valentine and Katherine Zawilinski and was a 1939 graduate of Canton McKinley High School. He was a life resident of the Canton/ East Sparta areas and a United States Army veteran of WWII. Benjamin retired from the United States Post Office after 40 plus years of service. He was a member of Howenstine Christian Church and the U.S. Postal Union. Preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Zollins in 2006; one sister who died during childhood; two brothers, Edward and Walter Zollins. Survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Dorothy Zollins of Canton; two granddaughters and spouses, Lisa and Steve Coates of Hudson, Laurie and Mike Boyd of Greentown; four great grandchildren, Jacob Boyd, Jonathan, Madeline and Caroline Coates; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at 3:00 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Chris Davis officiating. Inurnment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 2:00 – 3:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to Howenstine Christian Church in care of Robert Burkhart, 6721 Derek Cir. S.E., E. Sparta, OH. 44626.
