Bay R Carpenter
Age 90, of Louisville, Ohio passed away Saturday June 3, 2017 in Aultman Hospital, Canton. He was born March 24, 1927 in Batesville, Ohio to the late Ottie and Goldie Carpenter. Bay was an Owner/Operator Truck Driver for more than 60 years. He was a Korean War Army veteran having served with the 101st Airborne Division and a recipient of four bronze stars.
Driving Truck was his life and hobby, which he enjoyed until he was 85 years of age, long past the time when most people retire. A big grin would come over him, as he climbed in the cab of his eighteen-wheeler, he would wave and exclaim “See you on down the road”.
Bay attended NewPointe Community Church with his wife, Maxine; prior to which, he was a member of the Canton First Free Methodist Church, where he served in many positions and helped his fellow members.
He is survived by his loving wife, B. Maxine Carpenter with whom he would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on June 6th; two sons, Jeffrey and Phillip both of Louisville; two grandchildren, Sara (Andy) Terrell, and Chad Carpenter; two great-grandchildren, Quentin and Silas Terrell; one sister, Ruth Betts of Barnesville, Ohio; sister-in-law, Mary Carpenter of Batesville, Ohio. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Lee, Woodrow and Ray Carpenter; one sister, Eileen Thompson. Funeral services will be Thursday June 8, 2017 at 10:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Mason officiating. Burial will be at 2:00pm in Bend Fork Cemetery, Belmont, OH with military honors. Friends will be received Wednesday 5-8pm in the funeral home.
