Arlie D. Zinn
Age 92, of Canton departed this life on Friday, February 11, 2011 after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Ernest and Vallie Gay (Calhoun) Zinn. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran and retired from Canton Drop Forge in 1983 after 43 years of service. Arlie was a member of the Model T and VMCCA clubs and was also a member and former vice president of the Die Sinker Union. Arlie loved restoring and tinkering with his antique cars, playing the banjo and singing in local clubs with his wife, Ethel. Preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Ethel N. (Shull) Zinn in 2003; seven brothers and two sisters. Survived by his children, Cecelia Cooper, Debbie Zinn and Cheryll Stankiewicz, Shelly and Dan Croston, Wanda Burkhart, Jerry and Judy Kaiser, Shirley Wilson, Linda Schiele; 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 at 1:30 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Pastor Jack Pancher officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Monday from 12:30-1:30 pm. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County for the exceptional care and support given to Arlie and his family.
