Anthony G. Vega
Anthony G. Vega, age 83, of Greenwood, IN, and formerly of Canton, passed away Saturday August 16, 2008 in Community Hospital South. He was born March 21, 1925 in Cleveland, OH, to the late Romanos Bega Riguero and Ermitas (Gonzales). Anthony was a Canton area resident most of his life, a WWII Army veteran and retired from Wean United. He was a life member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and more recently was a member of Saints Francis and Clare Catholic Church in Greenwood, IN. He was a member of the North Canton Eagles and was an avid bowler for a number of years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Juan Cesto Laje; wife, Dorothy "Tootsie" Vega in 1991; one brother, Pete Vega. He is survived by seven children and their spouses, Debbie Marie (Boyd Jr.) Edwards, Ava Marie Chirumbolo all of Canton, Toni Marie (William Jr.) McFarland of Summerville, SC, Jeanne Marie (Terry) Milini of Crosby, TX, Frank Anthony (Rhonda) Vega of Greenwood, IN, John Anthony (Jodie) Vega, James Anthony (Lisa) Vega all of Canton; 17 grandchildren, Kelly (Chris) Moore, Jessica Edwards, Anthony and Stephanie Chirumbolo, Amber and Jason McFarland, Ashley and Jenna Stilwell, Amanda, Matthew, Cody, Jared, Haley, McKenna, Emma, Anthony James Vega and Shaun Daniska; two great grandsons, Taylor and Jaden. The family would like to thank Rhonda Vega for her special care and love expressed to Anthony during his stay in Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday August 21, 2008 at 12:00pm in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Bishop as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
