Anne E. Kessler Rhuark
Age 83, of East Canton died Friday, July 20, 2012 in Affinity Medical Center following a brief illness. Born December 2, 1928 in Marl-Recklinghause, Germany to the late Walter M. and Anna Ella (Viertel) Strobelt. She was a 1947 graduate of Canton McKinley High School and an East Canton resident for the past 20 years. She was a member of Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church and a founding member of GDI. Annie was a pillar of love, strength, courage and generosity with a heart of gold. She was loved by everyone who knew her. Preceded in death by her first husband, James Kessler in 1971 and one grandson, Kevin Kessler. Survived by her husband of 28 years, John "Ted" Rhuark; seven children and spouses, Larry and Sue Kessler of East Canton, Ron and Pam Kessler of Massillon, Carol and Randy Sauers of Louisville, Barney and Barb Kessler of Canton, Barb and Doug Slabaugh of Cincinnati, Jane and Ray Kmatz of Louisville, Rich and Kris Kessler of Massillon; 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two brothers and sister-in-law, Harry Strobelt of Canton, Herb and Joan Strobelt of Louisville; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, July 23, 2012 at 11:00 am in Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church, 930 S. Nickelplate St., Louisville, OH. 44641, with Pastor Karin Himstedt officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday from 10-11 am. Memorial donations may be made to Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church.
