Anna F. "Auntie" Dureska,
Anna F. "Auntie" Dureska, age 93, of Canton, died Saturday, February 26, 2005 in Canton Regency Health Care following a very brief illness. Daughter of the late Matus and Agnes (Benach) Dureska. She was a life resident of Canton, retiring from the Timken Company in 1963 after 30 years of service and also retiring from Timken Mercy Hospital in 1974 with 12 years of service. She was a life member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Alter Rosary Society, Slovak Catholic Sokol and First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, Peter Chovanec; three brothers, John, Harry and Steve Dureska; one nephew, Tommy Dureska; one great-nephew, Michael DeSerio; and one sister-in-law, Mary E. Dureska. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary D. Dureska and Pauline M. Dureska both of Canton, four nieces and their spouses, June and Richard Trubisky, Louise and Donald Stropki, Marlene DeSerio, Lorraine and William Lahey; two nephews and their spouses, Dr. Peter and Patti Dureska, David and Laura Dureska; a great-niece who was Anna's caregiver, Lori Morris and her husband, Mark; 13 additional great-nieces and great-nephews; and two great-great-nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10 am in All Saints Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Bishop as Celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may Call on l hour before the Mass at the church (9-10am) where the procession will form. The Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. is in charge of arrangements.
