Amelia C. Briese
Amelia C. Briese, age 84, of Alliance, died Monday May 14, 2007 in Amherst Meadows following an extended illness. She was born May 27, 1922 in East Canton to the late Michael and Rosalia (Kolarick) Stepanich. She was a Stark County area resident most of her life and retired from The Timken Company after 30 years of service. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg, where she was an avid quilter; Amelia was also a tremendous cook. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Briese in 1996; one son, Joseph S. Briese in 2003; one sister, Ann Jacobson. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemarie and James Foltz of Canton South, Geraldine and Norbert Wellman of West Point, IA; one daughter-in-law, Caroline Briese of East Sparta; seven grandchildren and five great grandsons. A mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday May 17, 2007 at 10am in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Canton, with Fr. Vincent T. Freeh, MSC as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
