Alma T. Richmond
Age 90, of East Sparta died Thursday, August 8, 2013 in Aultman Compassionate Care Center following a brief illness. Born November 28, 1922 in Massillon, Ohio to the late Edward and Lura (Smith) Rohr. She was a life resident of the Canton area and a 1942 graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. Alma was a retired registered nurse having been employed by Timken Mercy Medical Center for 35 years. She was a member of St. Mary/St. Benedict Catholic Church of Canton and the Altar Rosary Society. Alma was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, enjoyed sending prayer cards to her friends and was a loyal financial supporter of missionaries throughout the world. Preceded in death by her husband, Chester Richmond in 1967 and one brother, Donald Rohr. Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Robert Peet of Canton; two grandchildren and spouse, Timothy Peet of East Sparta, Amy and Rev. Kelly Brown of Massillon; six great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; one sister, Rosella Glover of La Mesa, CA. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Aug. 12, 2013 at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Canton with Fr. Benson Okpara as Celebrant. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave.
