Alma M. Jones
Age 89, of Canton, passed away Wednesday January 20, 2016 in her home. She was born September 20, 1926 in Barnesville, OH to the late William D. and Kathryn (Denney) Powell. Alma was a Canton resident since 1952 and a member of Southwest Church of Christ. She was formerly employed by the Kroger Company and the Suarez Corporation Industries. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Jones in 1990; one granddaughter, Cherie Lynn Schroter; one great-grandson, Alec Burleigh; two sisters, Margaret Grant and Virginia Newlin. Alma is survived by three daughters, Linda (Vincent) Tonielli, Rebecca (Ralph) Shipp and Dorothy (Dennis “Bill”) Jackson; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Moyer. Funeral services will be Saturday January 23, 2016 at 12:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with her grandson, John Lamielle officiating. Friends will be received one hour before services on Saturday (11-12). A private burial will be in Southern Cemetery, Barnesville.
