"Together Again"
Alma Elaine (Gogerty) Dazey
Age 90, of Canton, passed away Tuesday June 7, 2016 in Windsor Medical Center from complications associated with Alzheimer’s. She was born June 15, 1925 in Triadelphia, WV to the late Fred and Zella (Dyer) Gogerty. She was a 1942 graduate of Canton Township High School and a life resident of Canton Local. Alma worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII at Union Metal. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church where she was a choir member. Alma sang with her seven sisters as part of “The Gogerty Sisters” group; she enjoyed raising her family, time spent with her grandchildren and being a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard C. Dazey in 2011 to whom she was married 64 years; five sisters and one brother. She is survived by four sons, Gary (Debra), Charles (Tina), Lee (Darlene) and Bill (Susan) Dazey; one daughter, Lu-Ann Dazey; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; two sisters, Lois (Ralph) Dazey and Marilyn Fox. The family would like to give special thanks to Windsor Medical Center and Crossroads Hospice for their loving care they provided to our mother during the last several months of her life. Funeral services will be Saturday June 11, 2016 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Dr. Chester Harris officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends will be received Friday 6-8pm. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
