Alicia M. Shier

Alicia Marie Shier (Shimek), age 31, went home to be with the Lord. She was born on July 16, 1991 in Canton, Ohio to Don and Gerilyn (Heyard) Shimek.  A graduate of North Canton Hoover High School and Bowling Green State University, she also completed her master’s degree through Western Governors University.  She was employed by Penta Career Center in Perrysburg as an Instruction Specialist teaching language arts and government classes.  In 2022 she was named Penta Career Teacher of the Year.

Alicia is survived by her husband, Chuck Shier; her parents; her in-laws, Richard & Linda Shier; her grandparents, Don & JoEllen Shimek; grandmother, Wilma Link; and her many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Alicia was a devoted wife, daughter, teacher, and friend to all who know her.  We will miss her smiling face and pray for the day when we meet again.  Her continued kindness will never be forgotten.

A private ceremony will be held for immediate family and her close friends.
