Alice E. Smith
Age 95, of Canton died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in the Canton Regency following an extended illness. Born July 30, 1916 in Caldwell, OH. to the late Frederick and Zella (Dyer) Gogerty. Alice was a 1934 graduate of Canton Township High School. She was a Canton resident most of her life having also resided in Sarasota, FL. Preceded in death by her husband Ralph Smith in 2002; three sisters, Mary Whiteleather, Grace Dye-Braucher, Ruth Gogerty; one brother, F. Thomas Gogerty; one son-in-law, Melvin Warner. Survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Shirley Warner of Zanesville, Linda and Vincent Spitale of Canton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Elizabeth Smith of Tennessee, Ronald and Beverly Smith of Lake Mohawk; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Alma Dazey of Canton, Marilyn and Thomas Fox of Navarre, Lois and Ralph Dazey of E. Sparta, Dorothy and Donald Charton of East Canton. Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 16, 2011 at 1:30 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Pastor Peggy Garner officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Friday from 11:30 - 1:30 pm.
