Alice L. Smith
Alice L. Smith, age 64, of Canton, passed away Friday December 5, 2008 in Aultman Hospital. She was born February 9, 1944 in Beckley, WV. to the late William and Gracie (Claypool) Burnett. Alice was a Canton area resident most of her life and a 1962 graduate of McKinley High School. She retired from The Timken Company in 1999 after 30 years of service. She was a contributor to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the Easter Seal programs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Alvin Burnett; three sisters, Armenta Stover, Arbuta Jones and Anne Thompson. She is survived by her husband, Bill Smith to whom she was married 42 years; four children, Samuel Smith, Kelly (Paul) Dazey, Stephen Smith and Scott Smith all of Canton; three grandchildren, Gary Wells, Meranda Vendosle and Trinity Smith; 6 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great grandchildren; one brother, Amon Burnett of Canton. Friends may call Monday 6-8pm in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. There are no other public services.
