Albert M. Creighton
Age 100, of Waynesburg, passed away Saturday December 4, 2010 in the Canton Regency. He was born November 11, 1910 in Waynesburg to the late William and Leona (Welker) Creighton. In 1936 he married Pearl Thouvenin and was married for 70 years until her passing in 2005. He was a farmer and fruit grower. He served as a Stark County commissioner for six years and a Sandy Township trustee for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Stark County Regional Planning Commission and Indian Run Christian Church where he had served as a deacon. He was a former Grange Master and a 60 year member of Sponseller Grange; life member of the National Rifle Association, Ohio Gun Association, Stark County Gun Collectors, Veteran Motor Car Club of America and the Vintage Chevrolet Car Club of America. Albert was a national champion in 1953 in bench rest shooting and held two world records. He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn King and Cheryl Creighton both of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be Tuesday December 7, 2010 at 11:00am in Indian Run Christian Church with Terry Bailey officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 6-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. and one hour before services on Tuesday at the church (10-11am). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Indian Run Christian Church at 8368 Hill Church St SE, East Canton, OH 44730.
