Albert "Sonny" Clapper Jr.
Age 80, of Canton died Friday, January 8, 2010 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. Born February 5, 1929 in Canton to the late Albert Sr. and Elinore Clapper. He was a life resident of Canton and a U.S. Army veteran. Sonny retired from Republic Storage in 1991 after 40 years of service. He was an active member of Trinity Brethren Church and loved camping at Springwood Lake. Sonny was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather and was a very generous man. Preceded in death by two brothers, Walt and Donald Clapper; one sister, Zoe Ann Barwick. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn I. (Kinsinger) Clapper; one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Patricia Clapper of West Palm Beach, FL; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Mike Grisez of Massillon; eight grandchildren, Deanna, Roger, Emily, Jennifer, Jeremy, Derek, Laura and Katie; two brothers and sister-in-law, Roger and Rosie Clapper of Oxnard, CA; John Clapper of Ocala, FL; two sisters, Pearl Pellegrino and Dorothy Filliez both of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 at 10:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Rev. Charles Lowmaster officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 – 8 pm.
