Agnes D'Aurelio
Mom passed away the same way she lived life, with a smile on her face and a genuine concern for those around her. She was 91 years old. Many grandchildren, newborn Right to Life babies and seniors were warmed by the hundreds of blankets she crocheted. Born Agnes Christine Lukas on April 10, 1915 in Cudahy, Wis., Agnes married Albert D'Aurelio on May 24, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1982 and welcomed her home on May 11, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Michael and Kristine, brothers John, Frank, Mickey and Paul; sisters Mary and Ann. She is survived by five children, Ginny (John) Randulic of Canton, Bob (Eileen) D'Aurelio of Newbury, Gemma (Ron) Thomas of Phoenix, AZ, Marge (Don) Boron of Magnolia and Dan (Barb) D'Aurelio of Akron. Missing their Grandma D's stories and unending love are 25 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson; sister, Josephine (John) Kucera of Cudahy, Wis. Mom had a great devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and was one of the founders of the Perpetual Adoration Program, a Holy Hour Program at St. Augustine Church in Barberton. She helped initiate the adoration program over forty-six years ago, it continues to this day. She felt very blessed that God called upon her to help organize that program and it brought her much joy to serve the Lord in that capacity. When asked what she felt was important in this life, Mom, without hesitation responded, "paying attention to the little things and spreading love through acts of kindness, a smile, an encouraging comment, these are important. Not necessarily doing big things, great things, but doing the little things, most especially, for others." As death approached Mom, she had a light in her eyes and had no fear. As she said several years ago before heart surgery, "I am going to close my eyes now and when I wake up, I will either see the faces of my children or the face of God. Either way, I will be happy." That is why she went home with a smile on her face. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, May 15, 2006 at 10:00 am. in St. James Catholic Church, 400 W. Lisbon St. Waynesburg with Fr. Joseph Zamary as celebrant. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron on Monday at 2:00 pm. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S.
