Robert John Secrest Jr.

Age 72 of East Canton passed away Sunday October 24, 2021, in his home. He was born July 26, 1949, in Canton to the late Robert J. Sr. and Shirley A. (Johnson) Secrest. John was a 1967 graduate of East Canton High School and a member of Indian Run Christian Church. He retired from U.S. Ceramic Tile and was formerly employed by the Diebold Company. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Heid and Kathy S. Dazey. John is survived by his wife, Kathy M. (Johnson) to whom he was married 49 years; one daughter, Rachel Avery; son-in-law, Jeremy Avery; grandson, Devin Avery; one brother, Tom (Jessica) Secrest; eight nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday October 28, 2021, at 11:00am in the Indian Run Christian Church with Terry Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Mapleton Cemetery. Friends and family will be received one hour before services on Thursday (10-11am.) in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio at 2685 Armstrong Rd. Wooster, OH 44691.
