Carolyn J. Smith

Age 83, of Louisville, passed away Monday August 8, 2022 in Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. She was born November 9, 1938 in East Canton to the late Arlie and Dorothy M. (Wess) Shepherd. Carolyn was a 1956 graduate of East Canton High School. She retired from the Jackson Township Police Department in 1993 after 15 years of service. She was a member of the former Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church where she was active with the women’s sewing group. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Smith in 1991; one brother, Edwin Shepherd; one sister, Marilyn Sukosd. Carolyn is survived by one sister-in-law, Kim Shepherd; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday August 11, 2022 at 11:00am in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Bruce Roth officiating. Entombment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
